1) Never give up! If you give up it actually makes you keep giving up on projects. Keep trying, and you never know, if you don't give up you could make a better project then you pictured! I am making a Sydney Opera House, and it's taking ALOT of effort, after one day I still haven't got the curves right after trying for about 3 hours, but I'm NOT giving up!
2) Remember we all have a different skill level. Some people try the hardest things when they only just started. For new builders, only on the first, or second project I recommend a garden with a fountain or a theme park, perhaps you could even build a house(Not from scratch) of course. If you're up to you're third, forth or fifth project you could try building something a little more skill like a castle or LOTS of slides. And maybe if you are on a 6+ project, you could try harder things like the titanic or sydney opera house. Remember, try the hardest things LATER on a project first, say if you were building a sydney opera house do the curves last.
3) Projects take a while, so remember to be patient! Alot of people start with a project but the next day they think of a new one so they remove it all. Patience is one of the important things in building - FORCE YOURSELF TO STAY WITH THE PROJECT! Projects take alot of time, some take a few days, some takes months or even years!
4) Be CREATIVE when you build! I know it's not the most important thing, but it's awesome! Try to think off the top of your head, ask people for ideas! Think of something you may never of thought of before! Like the Sydney Opera House! Hotels, theme parks and resorts are what everyone builds and a bit boring - must admit not that creative. But it's good to start off with!
5) Plan your project(s). You often build something, but then a couple days later when you build again you forget your plan and what your meant to do, where everything goes. Get a book, and draw what you want the project to look like, so it doesn't get stuffed up! Also, if you don't think you're a good thinker, have a book where you plan all your projects.
6) Blocks are great things to use for big projects, and alot of people use them. But after a few projects blocks might be a bit boring and you want to use something else. FINE! You can use shelves, which are very creative, detailed and look VERY NEAT. If you wanna know how to build with them visit mysticmayhem.net/index.cgi?board=housing&action=display&thread=29116 and you can also build with crates which look very cool. Who thought of building with tables too ?
7) Projects can be fiddily with locking and unlocking. Don't keep it locked the whole time, otherwise people can't see it and get to see how well your doing and how creative you are! Keep it unlocked for a few days or a week or two, and then lock it for the rest of your project, so people get to see the star you are! And that gives people a chance to give you coins more, too!
More will be coming soon, so I hope you like the guide so far!
